Jan 23, 2026: Storage lifecycle policies: Expanded support

Storage lifecycle policies now support additional cloud providers and regions:

  • Azure COOL tier: You can now create archival policies that use the COOL storage tier on accounts hosted on Microsoft Azure.

  • Government regions: You can now use storage lifecycle policies in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure government regions.

With this update, you can use the COOL archive tier on both AWS and Azure. The COLD archive tier continues to support AWS only.
