INVALID_USA_STATE_CODE_PERCENT (system data metric function)

Returns the percentage of column values that are not a two-letter code for one of the 50 U.S. states or the District of Columbia. The percentage is computed over the total row count, including NULL values in the denominator.

Syntax

SNOWFLAKE.CORE.INVALID_USA_STATE_CODE_PERCENT(<query>)

Arguments

query

Specifies a SQL query that projects a single column.

Allowed data types

The column projected by the query must have the VARCHAR data type.

Returns

The function returns a FLOAT value.

Usage notes

  • The comparison is case-insensitive. Leading and trailing spaces are not trimmed.
  • U.S. territories are not included.

Example

Measure the percentage of invalid state codes in the state_code column:
