snowflake.snowpark.Column.substring¶

Column.substring(start_pos: Union[Column, int], length: Union[Column, int]) → Column[source] (https://github.com/snowflakedb/snowpark-python/blob/v1.30.0/snowpark-python/src/snowflake/snowpark/column.py#L1225-L1252)¶

Returns a substring of this string column.

Parameters:

start_pos – The starting position of the substring. Please note that the first character has position 1 instead of 0 in Snowflake database.
length – The length of the substring.

substring() is an alias of substr().
